An official delegation from Bayelsa State led by Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has visited the Presidential Villa in Abuja to condole with the Nation’s first family on the death of the Mother of Dame (Dr.) Patience Jonathan.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Dickson noted that they in the Villa to express their condolences to the President and his dear wife over the sudden and untimely demise of Sisi Oba.
The Governor described the unfortunate incident as a big loss not just to the first family, to the Government and people of Bayelsa, adding that she was a mother to all.While praying for the eternal repose of the soul of the departed, the Governor prayed God to comfort the First Family and assured them that, the entire State was fully behind them in this trying period.
Responding, President Goodluck Jonathan thanked the delegation for coming to identify with them in their moment of grief.The President described the departed as a very peaceful and contented Woman, who hardly complained of anything, noting that she was so dear to the family and that is why her death is so painful.
Bayelsa delegation also had former governor of the State, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, King AJ Turner, King Edmund Daukoru, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Chairman, Traditional Rulers Council, King Godwin Igodo and some members of the National Assembly from the State.
